George & Lynch was awarded a contract to construct a floodwall along the Delaware City Branch of the C & D Canal.  The project was part of the ongoing Delaware City Beautification Project. Our phase included the construction of 750 Linear Feet of Floodwall complete with flood doors that access the marina’s two boat docks. It also includes the installation of a new storm drain system along Canal Street and Front Street.

In conjunction with this project, we also installed a 12 inch diameter HDPE sanitary sewer pipeline for the New Castle County Conservation District.

George & Lynch used its American DD8 Directional Drilling Machine to drill under the canal and pull back the new sewer line.  The new pipeline runs from a lift station on the south side of the Delaware City Canal, under the canal to Delaware City.

The project went smoothly with no disruption of the navigable canal or the new river walk area.
